"Must-see... and I don't use the term 'must-see' lightly" | Maggie's Journal | full review
★★★★ "an eclectic hot mess... a bold and evocative statement about the way alcohol and women have been portrayed across time." |Theatrepeople | full review
★★★★ "poetic and often thought-provoking... striking... visually stunning" | Beat magazine | full review
An exploration of alcohol in contemporary culture, Gin Sister draws on the mainly female perspectives around life and drink in the writings of Chekhov, Nietzsche, Marguerite Duras, Janis Joplin, Greek mythology and Peaches (to name a few). From Chekhov’s Three Sisters to contemporary cultural icons and original writings, Man With A Plan create a highly physical and touching theatrical response to women’s drinking culture in a world where there is no God.
This production premieres as part of the inaugural Poppy Seed Festival season from 27 Nov - 6 Dec 2015 at the New Ballroom, Trades Hall, 54 Victoria St, Carlton.
